The other night, the ladies and I sat at a street side “pub” and had a few drinks. I noticed a middle aged man Vietnamese man sitting at the next table with his friend and they were pointing at the tattoo on my foot that reads “Live Free.” Curious, they asked me about it and what it meant to me. I guess ‘live free’ means the freedom to whatever I want, whenever I want without fear or regrets. He looked at me with sad eyes, and told me that he is “trapped” in his life and that he is not free and that he never would be. He told me that all he does is work, work and work to support his wife and child, and that he had dreams to travel around the world, to see the US and Canada. I asked him if he was happy and he was unable to answer the question.
It’s moments like these that make me grateful to be from Canada. There has never been a question of whether or not I could do something, if I wanted to take a vacation I would have to save up for a few months and it’s not an issue. If I want to buy a house, a car, go to school, see the world it doesn’t matter, it’s acheivable, everything is within reach. So I guess the moral of the story for everyone back home is GET OFF YOUR ASS and do shit because you can. NO EXCUSES.

Finally, after a week of waiting, we pulled the precious footage off of our Sony HC9 and I was able to put this little diddy together. Don’t miss the Skype call at the end.
