Take a look for yourself:

DSCN2073_3This is a typical power line pole in Saigon.  As you can see, it’s much different from the standards set in developed countries. Safety first!

Hah! Just kidding. Our apartment in Istanbul had some of the best views ever. Now, I get to stare at this:

It should be noted that this balcony now brings loads of entertainment every evening. I get to see expats visiting ATMs so that they can get enough funds to accommodate the hooker elegantly clad (hah!) on their arm. I also got to see a completely wasted couple pick a fight with another couple. That scenario lead to two girls kicking each other in the middle of the street, while the two men punched each others faces into the ground. The cops broke that one up before I could pull out the video camera, dammit.
