We have an announcement-

Jet Set Zero now will be working with Next New Networks.

Next New Networks is one of the biggest and best online television  networks.  They work to help develop, market, and distribute shows created by independent producers like us.  They distribute some shows you may have heard of including Key of Awesome, Barely Political, Indy Mogul, Hungry Nation, ThreadBanger, and last by not least our good friend Amy’s show Stupidly Simple Snacks.

What does this mean for Jet Set Zero?

A lot and a little.  Simply put nothing changes for the way we develop, shoot and produce the show.  Control is still 100% ours, and you’ll be seeing the same great Jet Set Zero series, shorts, and content as always.  What  does change is  our ability to distribute the show.  We will be able to get word out to more people than ever and this helps us sustain what we do and keep going.

In short you should be seeing more of Jet Set Zero in more places.

And finally, and most importantly we have to say thank you.

Thank you to all the people, the cast, crew, friends and family that got us this far.  It’s been a long road, but we couldn’t have done it without a single one of you.

NEWS

Jet Set Zero was selected to appear on YouTube’s first ever travel channel.

YouTube Vacationer

YouTube just launched YouTube Vacationer which in addition to being it’s first travel channel (and sponsored by Norwegian Cruise Lines) also feature’s Jet Set Zero’s Season 7 content from Italy. If you head on over to YouTube.com/Vacationer you can see our first few videos from Italy already featured with even more to come soon. We are all pretty happy to be on a new travel channel and hope it’s just the first of many appearances for Jet Set Zero on larger networks.

In the meantime, don’t forget to check out our latest Italy videos for anything you may have missed.

It may seem strange to talk about season 8 while seasons 6 and 7 are still being released, but this the reality of production.  The amazing casts that we have had in Quito and Italy are finishing up their adventures, and now we’re working on pulling together another team of travelers for the next big challenge.

We don’t know where it will be, or even who the team is. yet  However we do know one thing – it will be awesome.

In just a few minutes you’ll get introduced to the first cast member from Season 8, and next Wednesday we’ll introduce number two. As far as who comes after that… well it could be you.

If being  a part of Jet Set Zero sounds like something you want to do then this is one of your rare chances.  Apply now and take the leap.

Got an idea for a location, cast occupation, cast member or otherwise for season 8? Rad.  Send it to us: web@jetsetzero.tv.

We’ve got an announcement – a big one.

Starting tomorrow we will start releasing content and stories from a whole new group of Jet Set Zero cast members, in a whole new location – Italy.

Not only will this be the first time that we have had a season in Europe, it will also be the first time that we have done two seasons at the same time.  It will be a big challenge, but we’re excited to share stories of travelers from around the world and we couldn’t think of a better next location than Italy (I know the moon would totally be better, but give us time).

Check back tomorrow as we start to reveal the identities of the new cast.  As of tomorrow you’ll also be able to go to www.jetsetzero.tv/italy for updates on what happens with the cast on their Italy adventure or www.jetsetzero.tv/quito for updates on the Quito cast.  And as always jetsetzero.tv will be a home for the stories and videos from all the locations.

We couldn’t be happier to have this new team on board and be able to share their journey with you.  Check back all week for introduction and on June 4th for their first day in Italy.

So, here’s the plan.

After more than a year of non-stop traveling, of long days working local jobs, followed by working on production, followed by working local jobs, followed yet still by an endless series of adventures the first stage of my journey is coming to a close.

Our primary goal in all of this is to enable and inspire others to have these experiences, to not only travel, but to really explore the cultures of other countries.  After more than a year of telling our story we wanted to give some of our followers a chance to do just that.  Jen, Kris, Serene, and Laurene will carry the story forward and share their experiences, journeys and adventures with you.  In the meantime Rob and I will be back in the US and we’ll be working hard to launch some exciting new projects that should expand the scope and depth of our story.  In some ways it is a difficult transition, but when it really comes down to it I am happy to trade some time in front of a laptop in the US if it allows dozens of others to tell their own Jet Set Zero stories and adventures.

We’ll be behind the scenes for a little while, but we haven’t gone anywhere.

Thank you to everyone who made this first year possible.  We promise that the second year will provide some amazing new directions, locations and adventures.

And of course, we’ll be back soon.
