What if you got up tomorrow and quit your job, packed your bag, and then took off on an adventure? What if you did it with a camera following you, sharing your story with the world?
This is a story about leaving your life behind to live, work, and travel in foreign cultures. You’ll live your life immersed in the local experience, documenting your journey, and then moving on to the next location – all in 90 days.
If you are interested in applying then:
1. Read this entire page carefully.
2. Make sure you’ve watched our show. The more of it the better. Even if you’ve been reading the blog regularly, you won’t have a real sense of what we do unless you’ve watched at least one full season through from start to finish. If you haven’t watched any episodes at all then you shouldn’t be applying.
3. Follow the directions in the apply section below to send in your materials.
We’re looking for passionate adventurers (no previous travel experience necessary), who are willing to hop on a plane and arrive at a destination unknown to live, work, and travel with 3 strangers for 3-9 months. You’ll start documenting your story while still in your home country: after joining the cast you and your teammates will plan your first destination with help from us and your audience. Once in your first location, we’ll document your story as you work to find housing, jobs and build a life for yourself. After working for 90 days, you and the rest of the team will pack up and decide if you want to keep traveling together. If so, you’ll head on to the next location of the group’s choosing.
Your departure to your first country, the job and housing search, local experiences, trips, relationships –your life– will all be filmed by a dedicated producer who will work with our US team to make sure that we capture the most important parts of your story. You will also be responsible for writing about, photographing, and filming your experiences as well as updating your story on the site (jetsetzero.tv). This is an amazing opportunity to tell your unique travel stories and adventures, but we will only consider applicants that demonstrate a willingness to share their lives with complete openness. If you are not comfortable with the thought of someone filming you haggling with a local street vendor, going on a date, or working a job then this isn’t the position for you.

We’ve tried many times to sum up the cast experience, and this is as close as we’ve gotten:
“Endless neon streets, remote jungles, high speed trains, roaring motorcycles, elephants, ostriches, bizarre foods, awesome foods, new friends, tiny villages, sprawling cities, perfect deserted beaches, bustling subway stations, exciting skylines, unfamiliar alleys, new experiences, a life without regret and the promise that for not even a single second will you be bored with what you are doing.”

Important
Life on the road is hard, the days are long, and not every experience will be a fun one. This isn’t a travel “host” position, and you will be looking for and then working a job in a foreign country. This is an amazing experience if you put in the effort to make it that way. The rest of your team will be depending on you, so we ask every applicant to watch the show and strongly consider whether they are prepared to commit to this experience.
As a cast member, this position is completely unpaid; self-funded travel and local work are both critical parts of the experience and show. If you have enough money to travel without working we will ask that you bring only a fixed starting quantity similar to what your fellow travelers will start off with in your first destination.
This is a show about working as a team to make incredible things happen — not about group vacations.
For each season, we are looking to confirm these positions as soon as possible, so applying early is in your best interest. We will close applications as soon as we’ve found the perfect candidates. If you’ve just missed casting for a certain season, you can still apply and if we like what we see, we will put you on a mailing list for future seasons.

Apply
Step one of the application process is to send us an email detailing why this is the position for you and what makes you the perfect fit for this adventure. Get creative. Send us any additional stories, writing samples, photographs, videos (or links to videos) that will help us understand why you will be able to tell this story better than anyone else.
Blogging, writing, photography, and videography are all excellent (though not required) skills. If you have one of these, make sure to include some samples of your work.
If you’re feeling ambitious and are sure you’ll make it to round two of the application process then film a video introducing us to who you are and why you should be on the next cast of Jet Set Zero.
Send all materials, art, videos, emails, letters, stories, poems, epics, sculptures, tall tales, or otherwise to jobs@jetsetzero.tv.
If you need some inspiration to get started, here’s a casting video that Jen (from Season 5) sent us. Videos do not have to follow this format: it’s just one example.
We only ask that you show us something new, whether that is yourself, a new experience, or new place it doesn’t matter. Shoot it with a webcam, a point and shoot camera or a create a flip book of photos, it also doesn’t matter.
Be creative.
