I suspect that over the next three months, you will start to notice a common thread in Saigon…the crazy traffic and the amazing food. At the end of our first full day in the city, after polishing off yet another steaming bowl of pho, we decided to see what kind of weird critters we could find. As Jen and I were purchasing some crocodile and ostrich to sample, someone commented that they were selling grilled “rat” at the end of the food stalls. There was no hesitation (not even to consider the threat of hantavirus). Turns out it was “only” mouse, but we were stoked nonetheless. The following video is our reaction….
And I should mention that the background music in the video is Saigon’s own band “Prophecy” in concert. Local food and local music all rolled into one!
hard knoxxx… the mouse was good going down, but how was it on the way out? have you developed that particular love-hate relationship with street vendor food?
Hey Timmy T…just so you know, Jen and Serene and I have been indiscriminately stuffing the craziest stuff we can find into our mouths, with no repercussions as of yet. In fact, I’m actually constipated. Because you wanted to know.
Dear Tim,
ARE YOU ASKING ABOUT MY BOWEL MOVEMENTS? If so, they have been fine thank you. I’ll let you know when I get the runs, so far it’s straight love for the street vendors. Take care and reach for the stars.
Jen
PS. Kris is still constipated.
