The woman spoke no English and there was only 1 white guy with a haircut similar to mine in the book of hairstyle examples she handed me.  The picture doesn’t show the actual haircut as well as I would like, but basically she trimmed it for 20 minutes then spent 10 minutes spiking it.  What resulted is shown below, along with my attempt to look like a character from Dragon Ball Z. I’m getting ready for the North Face yuppy attack…or I’m constipated, which I suppose is probably a super power somewhere in the annals of manga.
